We Believe In Hard Work And Dedication

Jan’s School of Catering is one of Jamaica’s premier catering schools, with over 25 years of experience in culinary education and training. Founded in 1982 by Emlyn Butler, from her passionate desire to share her skills with others, the school offers highly regarded 3-week to 24-month career training courses in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, Culinary Management, Waitering and Housekeeping. Our graduates have been ranked among the best in the industry, and this has been credited to the full immersion of students in an environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience. With an in-depth practical-oriented curriculum, dedicated chef-instructors, our work experience and job placement programme, and a clear entrepreneurial focus, Caribbean Institute of Hospitality is highly recognized as the foremost pathway to begin or continue a career in the culinary arts.

Our convenient location at 29 Courtney Walsh Drive (formerly Derrymore Road), provides students with easy access to public transportation and the Half Way Tree business district. Through our daily catering activities, students have the opportunity to work alongside professionals in the industry and even earn an income to help fund their training. Students can also obtain multiple certifications in the course of study through NCTVET (HEART Trust NTA).

At Caribbean Institute of hospitality, our goal is to prepare students for both personal and professional success, by ensuring they obtain the knowledge base, skills, and attitudes to excel as productive members of the society. So whatever your reason for choosing this area of study – whether it is to start your own business, wage employment, or just to learn cooking or baking for your personal fulfillment – we are confident that we can help fuel your passion, extend their talent and broaden your culinary horizons, all while having fun.
